The American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC) Membership Committee, in conjunction with the AIHC Membership Awards Subcommittee, is thrilled to announce a call for nominations for 6 AIHC awards. The submission deadline for awards is Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:59 ET.
The awards are:
- AIHC Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award
- AIHC Interprofessional Collaborative Practice Award
- AIHC Interprofessional Educator Award
- AIHC Interprofessional Scholarship Award
- AIHC Individual Student Award for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice
- AIHC Student Team Award for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

AIHC Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award
Description: This award is given to an AIHC member for outstanding mentorship to advance interprofessional collaboration. Mentorship may be formal or informal and with students and/or peers.
Eligibility: AIHC member in good standing for at least the past two years. Preference will be given to individuals who have served as a mentor with the AIHC Mentoring Program.
Nature of Award:
- Certificate of Award
- One-year free membership in AIHC
The award will be publicly acknowledged at national and international conferences such as the Nexus Summit and Collaborating Across Borders.
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:59 ET.
Nomination Materials:
The following should be provided in the application packet consisting of ten pages or less:
- Nomination letter addressing selection criteria (see below)
- CV highlighting interprofessional mentoring engagement
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrates serving as a role model of interprofessional collaboration
- Provides interprofessional education experiences to students and/or peers develop and advance understanding of interprofessional collaboration.
- Encourages participation in interprofessional networking activities
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to mentoring such as participating as a mentor with the AIHC Mentoring Program

AIHC Interprofessional Collaborative Practice Award
Description: This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in interprofessional collaborative practice.
Eligibility: AIHC member in good standing for at least the past two years.
Nature of the award:
- Certificate of award
- One year free membership to AIHC.
The award will be publicly acknowledged at national and international conference such as the Nexus Summit or Collaborating Across Borders.
Application/Nomination Procedures:
Nomination submission deadline is: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:59 ET.
- Self and peer nominations are accepted. Nominations are stronger when the nominee is included in the nomination process.
- Careful attention should be paid to the selection criteria when compiling the application packet.
- Materials should explicitly state the interprofessional nature of the nominee’s work by enumerating the professions involved.
Nomination Materials:
The following should be provided in the application packet consisting of ten pages or less:
- Statement/description of nominee’s involvement in interprofessional collaborative practice
- Two letters of support from peers or community partners
- Evidence of impact (e.g., peer or patient/client testimonials, publication list, outcomes demonstrating impact, project summaries, etc.)

AIHC Interprofessional Educator Award
Description: This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in interprofessional teaching.

- Developed or implemented novel IPE initiatives, curricula, or tools that enhance student learning and engagement.
- Uses evidence-based teaching methods aligned with the IPEC Core Competencies (e.g., teamwork, communication, ethics, roles/responsibilities).
- Impact on Learners and Colleagues
- Evidence of sustained positive influence on students, trainees, or colleagues in interprofessional settings.
- Promotes inclusive and equitable learning environments that reflect diverse perspectives.
- Scholarship and Dissemination
- Contributes to the IPE field through research, presentations, or publications.

AIHC Interprofessional Scholarship Award
Description: This award is given to recognize and reward individuals who have made significant contributions to research and scholarship in interprofessional practice and education.
Eligibility: AIHC member in good standing for at least the past two years.
Nature of award:
- Certificate
- One year free membership to AIHC
The award will be publicly acknowledged at national and international conferences such as the Nexus Summit or Collaborating Across Borders.
Application/Nomination Procedure:
Nomination submission deadline is: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:59 ET.
- Self or peer nominations are accepted. Nominations are stronger when the nominee is included in the nomination process.
- Materials should explicitly state the interprofessional nature of the nominee’s work by enumerating the professions involved.

- Description of research and scholarship in interprofessional practice and education. Scholarship consistent with the definition by Boyer1, such as discovery, integration, application and teaching and learning, is appropriate.

- Optional: Evidence of impact (e.g., Grant submissions and awards, Presentations to IPE conferences including invites, Peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed publications)

- Research/scholarly productivity including peer-reviewed publications and presentations
- Quality of research/scholarship
- Internal/external funding support
- Impact of scholarship in advancing IPE and collaborative practice

AIHC Individual Student Award for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice
Description: This award is given to a student who has demonstrated consistent engagement in an interprofessional collaborative practice within the clinic, classroom and/or community.
Eligibility: AIHC student member in good standing.
Nature of Award:
- Certificate of Award
- One year free membership to AIHC
The award will be publicly acknowledged at national and international conferences such as the Nexus Summit or Collaborating Across Borders.
Nomination submission deadline is: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:59 ET.
Application/Nomination Procedures:
- Should a student wish to be considered for this award they must:
- Be engaged in collaboration with people from at least one profession other than their own
- Ask a faculty member or faculty mentor to submit this nomination form and letter of support to include the criteria listed below.
- The nominated student must submit an electronic poster to include the criteria below for award consideration
The following materials should be included in a nomination packet:
- Submit one letter of support from a faculty member or faculty mentor, which must include the following:
- Description of engagement (project, mentorship, clinical or community experience) in interprofessional collaborative practice
- Description of outcomes and/or impact on the clinic, classroom and/or community

Description: This award is given to a student team who has demonstrated consistent engagement in an interprofessional collaborative practice within the clinic, classroom and/or community.
Eligibility: AIHC student members in good standing.

- One year free membership to AIHC
The award will be publicly acknowledged at a national conference such as the Nexus Summit or Collaborating Across Borders.
Application/Nomination Procedures:
Nomination submission deadline is: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:59 ET.
- Should a student team wish to be considered for this award they must:
- Be comprised of students from 2 or more professions
- Submit one letter of support from a faculty member or faculty mentor, which must include the following:
- Description of engagement (project, mentorship, clinical or community experience) in interprofessional collaborative practice
- Description of outcomes and/or impact on the clinic, classroom and/or community
- Evidence of demonstrating interprofessional communication, collaboration and excellence as team members
- The nominated student team must submit an electronic poster which must include the following:
- Description of engagement (project, mentorship, clinical or community experience) in interprofessional collaborative practice
- Description of outcomes and/or impact on the clinic, classroom and/or community
