AIHC Interprofessional Practice Award

Description

This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in interprofessional practice.

 
Eligibility

AIHC member in good standing for at least the past two years.


Nature of award

 - Certificate
 - One year free membership to AIHC
 - The award will be publicly acknowledged at national and international conferences such as Nexus Summit 2022 and Collaborations Across Borders

Application/Nomination Procedures:

Nomination submission deadline is September 2, 2022.
  1. Chair of the AIHC scholarship committee will call for nominations.

  2. The AIHC scholarship awards subcommittee will review nominations and determine award recipient.  

  3. Self and peer nominations are accepted.

  4. The following should be provided in the application packet consisting of eight pages or less:

    • Cover page

    • Two letters of support from peers

    • Description showcasing interprofessional practice provided  for the past 2 years

    • Previous award recognition for interprofessional practice

    • Evidence for developing and advocating for innovative interprofessional practice based on the following selection criteria.

Selection Criteria
  1. Letters of support highlight exemplary interprofessional collaboration and practice.
  2. Evidence for developing excellent interprofessional practice in the clinical environment
  3. Demonstrates the impact of interprofessional practice on quality of patient care and/ or the community.
  4. The following criteria should be provided in the letter of support:
    • IPEC Competency 1 Values/Ethics

    • IPEC Competency 2 Roles/Responsibilities

    • IPEC Competency 3 Interprofessional Communication

    • IPEC Competency 4 Teams and Teamwork

  5. Shares a vision and passion for collaborative practice and enlists others to the team through a demonstration of mutual respect, trust building and empowerment of team members.

  6. Evidence of continuous quality improvement in enhancing the practice environment.

  7. Degree of innovation in interprofessional practice.
