AIHC Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award

Description

This award is given to a faculty member for outstanding mentorship of students and/or peers in interprofessional education and/or practice.

 
Eligibility

AIHC member in good standing for at least the past two years.

Nature of award

 - Certificate
 - One year free membership to AIHC
 - The award will be publicly acknowledged at national and international conferences such as Nexus Summit 2022 and Collaborations Across Borders

Application/Nomination Procedure:

Nomination submission deadline is September 2, 2022.

1. Chair of the AIHC scholarship committee will call for nominations.
2. The AIHC scholarship awards subcommittee will review nominations and determine the award recipient.
3. Nominations for this award may come from a student, faculty member, administrator, or be a self-nomination.
4. The following criteria should be provided in the letter of support:

   • Demonstration of serving as a role model of interprofessional collaboration

   • Provides interprofessional education experiences to their mentee(s) to develop and advance the mentee’s understanding of interprofessional collaboration.

   • Encourages mentee to participate in interprofessional networking activities

   • Provides feedback to mentee regarding their performance using the IPEC core competencies as a framework (Values and Ethics, Roles and Responsibilities, Interprofessional Communication, Team and Teamwork)
