Nominations for all positions must be completed by 11:59 pm Central Time on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Background

For nearly two years, an AIHC Task Force has been working to develop a new structure for AIHC, which minimizes hierarchies, supports and enables collaboration across our organization, and facilitates our work to improve health and learning outcomes in the interprofessional Nexus of practice and education.

As a result of this work, the current AIHC leadership structure will sunset and be replaced with a Collaboration Hub, which will include facilitators of our four new Collaboratives (Learning, Mentoring, Innovating and Evidence), co-chairs of our two Committees (Membership and Communications), and a variety of other stakeholders. The full Task Force Report can be found HERE.

AIHC is currently seeking nominations for two co-convenors of the new Collaboration Hub. Completed, eligible nominations will be presented to the AIHC membership who will vote to elect two Co-Convenors.

In addition, AIHC is currently seeking nominations for new members to join AIHC’s two standing committees, Membership and Communications. Additional engagement opportunities for members will be shared in September 2023 following these leadership positions being in place.

AIHC Collaboration Hub Convenors

AIHC is currently seeking nominations for two co-convenors for the new AIHC Collaboration Hub. AIHC Co-Convenors have a national leadership and strategic role similar to the role of a President or Chair in other national professional organizations.  As AIHC launches this new model, one co-convenor will serve a 3-year term and one a 2-year term in order to create a rotation. Going forward, the role will have a two-year term. The person who receives the most votes will receive a 3-year term. Terms will start in September 2023 this year, and in future years, terms will be 2 years and will end on June 30.

Follow this link to find a full description of the eligibility, roles and responsibilities for the Co-Convenors, as well as the Co-Convenor Nomination Form. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. If you are nominating someone other than yourself, you must attest that the nominee has agreed to serve if elected.

AIHC Membership and Communications Committee Members

Under the new organizational structure, AIHC will retain two committees, Membership and Communications, which will serve an integrating and coordinating function by engaging with each of the Collaboratives and the Coordination Hub.

Both Committees need to grow their membership in order to fulfill new roles. Committee members are asked to serve a 3-year term, and are eligible for a second term and for selection by the Committee as a future co-chair.

Please review the full Task Force Report for details of the roles of these committees in our new structure as well as details on eligibility and roles and responsibilities.

Follow this link to find more information about the roles of committee member and submit your nomination here for either of the committees. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.

Committees will notify AIHC members who are selected to serve. Terms will begin September 2023 and end June 30, 2026.

In addition to these exciting leadership opportunities, every AIHC member will soon be able to self-select which of the Collaboratives you want to connect with. This will provide access to Collaboration Hub specific communications, meetings, and opportunities to engage with AIHC workgroups, activities, and programs. Members can affiliate with any or all of the Collaboratives - watch for further communication on this process soon!
