AIHC Co-Convenors Announced

As an AIHC community, we are pleased to introduce our new co-convenors, Tina Gunaldo and Devin Nickol.  The AIHC Co-Convenors are new positions which have been established in the new AIHC organizational structure.  Tina and Devin will lead the organization and ensure the successful functioning of the new AIHC Collaboration Hub, including strategic planning, serving as a spokesperson for the organization and engaging the Collaboratives and Committees. “I am passionate about collaboratively engaging and learning from others while developing a strategic and sustainable plan that aligns with growing our community of practice and am excited to support the early transformative stages of the new AIHC structure.” 

Tina’s past interprofessional and leadership experiences include serving in two inaugural interprofessional leadership roles, one at an academic health sciences center and the other with a state consortium. She also serves as co-editor of the journal Health, Interprofessional Practice and Education. Within AIHC, Tina has served on the membership and scholarship committees as well as the leadership workgroup. She served as co-chair of the scholarship committee for the last five years and served as a co-chair of the Innovation Task Force Phase 1, which led to the reorganization of AIHC.

Devin Nickol, MD, Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education, University of Nebraska Medical Center

“I believe in the unique importance of AIHC as an academic home for those in this field of interprofessional practice and education, and want to support the organization’s growth to benefit its members and also the patients and populations it serves.”

Devin is involved in interprofessional practice and education in several roles at the national level, including as editor of Journal of Interprofessional Education & Practice, and as event director of the 2019 and 2023 Heartland Interprofessional Education Conferences. Within AIHC, he is a charter lifetime member, has served on the board of directors, as historian and is an active member of the scholarship committee. He served on the CAB planning committee for CAB VII in Indianapolis, was the US co-chair for CAB VIII in Toronto and his institution will host CAB IX in Omaha in 2025 with collaborators at Creighton University.
