AIHC Committees

The American Interprofessional Health Collaborative has several operational committees.  Committee members must have an affiliate membership with the AIHC.  All committee members are appointed by the Nominations Commitee:

Collaborating Across Borders (CAB) committee assists in the development of the conference objectives, plenary speaker topics, abstract review rubric, abstract deadlines, call for abstracts, coordination of review and selection of the abstracts and preliminary program.. 

Communications committee recommends and develops key messages, effective communication strategies and guidance to promote effective interaction and collaboration with member and external audiences.

Finance The Finance and Audit Committee is chaired by the Secretary/ Treasurer and is composed of 4 members of the Board of Directors. It is responsible for reviewing and ensuring accuracy of financial records, recommending policies and procedures, and supervising the auditing process for AIHC.

Membership committee is charged with identifying meaningful membership benefits for current/ potential members, including academic, clinical, and student partners; marketing and outreach to attract and retain members; recommending membership benefits and rates; and collaborating with other committees to create value-added resources that support career development, collaborative learning/ practice communities, scholarship and mentorship among AIHC members.

National Center Liaison Committee includes AIHC Members and the NCIPE Executive Directors. The function of this committee is to maintain strategic alliance with the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education.

Nominations The Nomination Committee works with the Board to determine nomination and selection processes, and then solicits and reviews candidates for membership on AIHC Committees, the Board of Directors, and other positions as determined by the Board of Directors. The Nomination Committee then recommends a slate of candidates for approval by the Board of Directors. The Nominations Committee is composed of members of the Board of Directors.

Program committee is responsible to guide the development of programming for AIHC that will provide platforms for members to have voice and influence over interprofessional practice and education (IPE), and policy that supports IPE. Programming will focus on collaboration that brings together AIHC members and stakeholders to learn about, from, and with one another to improve health and healthcare for all.

Webinar committee plans, coordinates, and moderates webinars for both AIHC and non-AIHC members. The webinars occur approximately once each month. The committee plans to continue the monthly webinars and will include topics related to both interprofessional education and practice. In addition, the committee is considering some new endeavors over the next few months, including an online series.
